Mortgage teams that use automated borrower calls need tighter tracking of what a consumer opted out of, how they opted out, and which communications can still continue.
The FCC robocall consent revocation rules have been modified in a final rule published through the Federal Register in a document dated October 26, 2026. The Federal Communications Commission says the changes are meant to help consumers stop robocalls they no longer want while still receiving the categories of calls they do want.
For mortgage professionals, the practical issue is not just “call or don’t call.” It is whether your company, branch, CRM, dialer, servicing platform, and marketing vendors can record a borrower’s revocation by communication category, process it through the channel the company designates, and avoid turning a fraud or account alert exception into a marketing shortcut.
